Medical is one the most respected, lucrative, rewarding and attractive professions. Doctors or medical practitioners are held in high esteem in the society. All respect them. They cure the people suffering from any disease. To start a medical profession, one has to study MBBS/BDS courses in colleges for getting the degree.
To get admission in Medical College for pursuing education, the students will have to clear medical entrance test at a national level. A number of medical entrance examinations at national and university levels are conducted every year for admission in MBBS/BDS courses across the nation. Now since 2017, there are no state-level medical entrance examinations and all have merged into National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) Examination. We are giving below the list of Medical Entrance Examinations at national and University level for the academic year 2018-2019:
National and University Level Exams
NEET 2018
NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is the most important national level examination. The largest number of candidates appears at this examination. It is a premier national level medical entrance examination, which is the first choice of the students to sit in. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts it every year. It selects the candidates for admission in MBBS/BDS courses. The mode of NEET Examination is based on Pen and paper. Candidates fill an application form for NEET in the month of January.
NEET PG 2018
National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts a national level exam named as NEET-PG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test – Post Graduate). This examination is held for selecting candidates for admission into MD/MS courses offered by various medical colleges across the country. The online registration started from 31st October 2017 (January session). For June session, it starts from April 2018.
JIPMER 2018
JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research) holds the medical entrance examination for admission of a candidate in MBBS courses. Candidates can apply for this examination in the first week of March 2018 through online mode only. Medical aspirants will get admission in JIPMER, Puducherry & JIPMER, Karaikal campuses.
JIPMER PG 2018
JIPMER PG is a national level examination conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. Students aspiring for admissions in MD/MS courses may appear for this exam. JIPMER PG exam is held in two sessions, i.e January and July 2018. The application form is released in the month of March 2018.
AIIMS 2018
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) holds a medical entrance examination for admission of students in MBBS courses to its institute. The application form of AIIMS 2018 was released in the third week of February 2018. Candidates who want to pursue MBBS course from AIIMS can apply for this exam.
AIIMS PG 2018
AIIMS PG Entrance Exam is a national level post graduate examination conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi. This examination is held for selection of students for admissions in MD/MS/MDS/DM/M.CH Courses offered by AIIMS across the country. The exam is held twice in a year, i.e. January & July 2018. An application form will be released via online mode only.
AFMC MBBS 2018
The medical aspirants are admitted to Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in MBBS course on the basis of NEET examination. The online filing of the application form starts from the month of July 2018. AFMC grants admission to 130 MBBS seats including 10 seats for SC/ST candidates (105 seats for boys and 25 seats for girls).
DU MBBS Admission 2018
University of Delhi (Delhi University) offers UG and PG courses in medicine, engineering, commerce and science. Admission to MBBS course in the constituent colleges of Delhi University is done on the basis of NEET. No separate pre-medical test is held for admission to MBBS courses. Online registration will begin from the month of May 2018.
CENTAC 2018
Central Admission Committee (CENTAC) is primarily responsible for conducting admission to UG programmes offered by various government colleges of Puducherry and other states/UT’s in the medical, engineering & other fields. CENTAC 2018 application form for admission will be notified in the second week of May 2018. Admission in MBBS programme will be done on NEET scores.
IPU CET MBBS 2018
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers admission to students in MBBS programme on the basis of NEET 2018 score. The application for admission in MBBS will be issued in the month of June 2018. Candidates can fill and submit the application form via online mode through the website.
DNB CET 2018
The DNB CET is Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test. It is a national level entrance exam conducted by Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test for applicants seeking admission through DNB.
This exam is held twice in a year (January and July Session). Through DNB CET examination, candidates will get admissions in DM/MS and DNB 3-year Super Specialty courses. Application will be released via online mode only.
CMC Vellore 2018
CMC Vellore (Christian Medical College) is a Christian minority, an educational college which offers admissions to students in various UG, PG courses, diploma & other courses in medical field. The application form is released online only in the third week of March 2018. Admission to MBBS course is done on the basis of NEET Score followed by an aptitude test set by CMC.
MU OET 2018
No entrance examination is conducted by Manipal University for admission of students to its various UG and PG courses in the field of medical, dental, etc. Admissions in PG medical courses are done through NEET PG, and MBBS & BDS course it is done through NEET UG scores. An application form is filled up online.
AMU MBBS 2018
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a premier central University. No entrance examination is conducted by AMU for the admission of students in MBBS & BDS courses. Admission into these courses is done through NEET examination. The admission form will be released in the month of June 2018.
PGIMER 2018
Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) conducts university level examination for admissions of students in MD, MS, DM, MDS and other PG courses. Candidates can register for this exam through online mode. This examination is held twice in a year, i.e. January and July sessions.
BVP CET 2018
Bharti Vidyapeeth Deemed University does not hold any entrance exam for admission in MBBS & BDS courses. Candidates have to qualify the NEET 2018 to get admission into these courses. Admission and counseling process will be done by MCC (Medical Common Counseling).
SAAT MBBS 2018
Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University offers various UG, PG and other courses in the field of medical, engineering, computer applications, etc. Students have to clear the NEET examination for admission in MBBS & BDS courses offered by various constituent institutions of the university. Applications will be released via online mode.
KIITEE 2018
The admission of Medical aspirants to Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in PG Medical, PG Dental, and MBBS & BDS Courses is done on the basis of NEET exam. Students have to qualify the NEET exam to get admission in medical & dental courses. The application form will be accessible via online mode through the website.
